why do i get a load of rundll32.exe when i start up my pc?
Every time i start up windows xp i get this message on the log in page nvcpl.dll a dynamic link library initialisation fail and when windows loads up i get rundll32.exe running in my windows task manager 200 + times using 100% cpu what could be causing this iv run spyware and virus scans all normal.Rundll32.exe is an important process of your windows operating system. The process rundll32.exe executes dll files and puts their libraries into your system’s memory. Without this process your computer would run slow and become very instable!
If a virus destroys your rundll32.exe, or if for some other reason the file has become corrupt or been removed, you need to take the following action:
1- Check if you find a copy of rundll32.exe in the folder C:\windows\system32\dllcache or in C:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386. If this is the case, go ahead and copy rundll32.exe to the system folder C:\windows\system32.
2- If you don’t find a copy on your system, you can try to find the file on your windows installation disks.
3- You can simply repair your windows system by utilizing the windows installation disc that came with your computer. However, this is time-consuming and you will need to re-register your windows operating system…

The fix was easy and worked for me. I downloaded xp_exe_fix.zip from the link below, ran it and it was all good. Hope this helps somebody.
